Eucalyptus Certification Update

We have finished analyzing the results from what was previously known as the EUCP3 beta exam. Based on the level of difficulty, the exam has been refactored and will be launched in early November as the EUCA3 (Eucalyptus Certified Administrator on Eucalyptus 3) certification. All beta testers have been notified of their results, and here are some general statistics about the exam:

* Pass rate: 54.6%

* Average beta exam score: 50.5%

* Range of beta exam scores: 28% to 71%

Here are statistics about the final format of the EUCA3 exam for when it becomes generally available (again, in early November):

* Number of test questions: 30

* Passing score: 50.0%

* Format: Two sections - 1) Design, and 2) Build and Manage. Must score at least 25% in each section to pass, with a 50% overall score.

* Time allotted for the exam: 90 minutes (up to 3 hours upon request for international testers for whom English is a second language)

Thanks to everyone who participated in the beta, and I look forward to seeing everyone join the ranks of the few, the proud, the EUCA3 certified!
